    Bring That Beat (State) Bak!

    December 16, 2008

    Dear Friend,

I am writing to ask for your support of my reelection campaign.

As you know, Bob McDonnell and I are running on the Republican ticket for Governor and Lieutenant Governor in 2009.  Bob McDonnell and I know how to win tough races.  We have both won every race we have entered.   Altogether, our undefeated winning record is 15-0!  With your help, we plan to continue our winning streaks in 2009.

That's why the liberals are already gunning for us.  They have recruited two Democrat candidates to run against me: a multimillionaire businessman who has already poured nearly $250,000 of his own money into his campaign, and a well-connected Norfolk lawyer, who was a high-ranking official in the Kaine administration.

Before the General Election next November our Republican Party will hold a statewide convention on May 30, 2009 to determine our nominees for Governor, Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General.  I need to know that I can count on your support at that convention.

I am writing to ask that you sign up to become a member of The Bolling Brigade, the grass roots organization that will carry us to victory next November.  I also need for you to plan now to attend the Republican convention next May as a Bolling delegate.  Please <http://www.billbolling.com/?page=volunteer> click here to join The Bolling Brigade.

As a member of The Bolling Brigade you will join hundreds of Republican Party leaders who have already announced their support for my campaign.  This list includes every Republican member of Virginia's congressional delegation, more than 70 Republican members of the General Assembly, almost every member of the Republican Party's State Central Committee and more than 100 local Republican county and city committee chairs.

Perhaps most significantly, the list also includes current Attorney General and 2009 gubernatorial nominee Bob McDonnell and all three of the Republican candidates currently seeking the GOP nomination for Attorney General, including Senator Ken Cuccinelli, former United States Attorney John Brownlee and former Arlington County School Board Chairman Dave Foster.

    Spying on my own email

    Dear DANA,

This week we announced the official theme of President-elect Obama's inauguration: "Renewing America's Promise."

You may recognize this theme. It was a vision that President-elect Obama first committed to months ago -- a vision to expand opportunity to every American, and restore America's standing around the world.

We've talked about bringing change to Washington, but now we need to live up to that pledge. That's why we're planning the most open and accessible inauguration in history.

Today, we're taking the unprecedented step of giving everyone access to the database of donors who have contributed more than $200 to the Presidential Inaugural Committee. You'll be able to search for virtually real-time information on every donor by name, employer, city or state, and find out who has bundled contributions for the committee. Take a look at our donor database:

    http://www.pic2009.org/donors <http://www.pic2009.org/page/m2/14907f45/5784dbd8/2a8a66c1/607ee263/3962042185/VEsE/>

In keeping with President-elect Obama's commitment to changing the way business is done in Washington, we won't accept contributions from corporations, labor unions, political action committees, federally registered lobbyists, non-U.S. citizens and registered foreign agents. We also won't accept individual contributions larger than $50,000.

The need for accountability doesn't begin when the oath of office is taken. It needs to be a part of every step in the process. Our new database is one of the first steps toward a more open and transparent Washington

    For Immediate Release
    December 10, 2008

Senators Feinstein and Bennett Urge DC Government To Reverse Emergency
    Alcohol Law

WASHINGTON, DCSenator Dianne Feinstein, Chairman of the Joint Congressional
Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies (JCCIC), and Senator Bob Bennett, Member
of the JCCIC and Ranking Member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Rules and
Administration, today urged the Mayor and City Council of Washington, DC to
reverse the emergency legislation passed last week to allow bars and
restaurants to sell alcohol until 5 am during the week of the inauguration.
We have reached out to Mayor Fenty and Council Chairman Vincent Gray
because of our grave concerns about the unintended consequences of this
legislation, said Senator Feinstein. What is clearly meant as a boon to
local businesses may instead create tremendous problems for already
    overwhelmed law enforcement agencies.

Security needs to be the number one priority during the Inaugural
ceremonies and extending the sale of alcohol until 5 a.m. in D.C. will only
divert law enforcement resources away from their primary focus on security
measures and crowd safety, said Senator Bennett.

_The text of the letter follows:_

Dear Mayor Fenty and Council Chairman Gray:

We are writing today to urge that City Council and the Mayor reverse
emergency legislation approved by the Council last week that permits
nightclubs, bars and restaurants to sell alcoholic beverages until 5 a.m.
for four nights during the Inauguration of Barack Obama as our 44th
    President.

With projections as high as 4 million people planning to visit the city
during this time period, we are deeply concerned that the plan approved by
the City Council could seriously strain law enforcement resources that need
to be focused on the large crowds and security requirements of the Inaugural
and its impact on the City.

There is great cause for celebration at this historic event. But we believe
that the benefits of this emergency legislation, passed with little public
notice, are far outweighed by its possible consequences.

We understand the pressures you face from the different constituencies in
your city. But we also know the importance of standing firm to ensure the
safety of residents, workers and visitors who will be in Washington, D.C.,
    participating in this historic event.

    Sincerely,
    Robert F. Bennett

    Dear Friend,
The wolves of the left, sensing a new opening with a new administration, are circling.  Dangerous organizations like ACORN and MoveOn.org feel that Obama's victory is theirs as well.  Poisonous figures like George Soros, Louis Farrakhan, and Bill Ayers who have spent their lives trying to tear America down feel newly empowered by the election results.  Israel haters are licking their chops.  Like their bloodthirsty comrades abroad, Islamo-Fascists here at home are ready to step up the stealth jihad they are waging against our universities and other domestic institutions.

I have one thing to say to the leftists who would try to take advantage of America's present vulnerability: not on our watch!

The Freedom Center will not stand by and watch the left advance deeper into government, popular culture, and higher education.  Nor will we allow it to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory in Iraq or hamstring our military in Afghanistan.  The Freedom Center is ready, as it always has been, to carry the fight to our country's enemies.  No other organization engages in hand-to-hand combat with those on the left who would destroy our country from within.  We will continue to play this role in the fight over the American future that lies ahead.
But we can't do it without your help.  T

When you support the Freedom Center, what does your money buy?  A fair question, especially in a time of economic uncertainty, when every dollar counts.  And I'll try to give an answer by telling you briefly about what we have accomplished this past year.

In addition to books and pamphlets and three major daily web sites daily fighting the left's advances in our culture, we staged two Islamo-Fascism Awareness Weeks on 250 college campuses across the country.  Working

Fw: National Mall Will Be Open to the Public on Inauguration Day

NATIONAL MALL WILL BE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC ON INAUGURATION DAY

WASHINGTON, DC -- In keeping with its pledge to make the inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama one of the most open and accessible in history, the Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC) announced today that, for the first time, the entire length of the National Mall will be opened to the public so that more people than ever before will be able to witness the swearing-in of the President from a vantage point in sight of the Capitol.

The PIC has worked closely with officials from the District of Columbia government, the National Park Service, the Armed Forces Inaugural Committee (AFIC), and the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies (JCCIC) to make space at this historic location available to members of the public who are unable to obtain tickets to the swearing-in. Those who come to witness the swearing-in on the Mall will be able to watch and listen to the ceremony on large screens that will be provided by the PIC along the Mall.

"We're grateful to local, federal, and military officials for their efforts to open up the National Mall to Americans who want to participate in this historic occasion," said PIC Executive Director Emmett S. Beliveau. "These arrangements represent our committee's continuing commitment to make next year's historic inauguration as accessible as possible to citizens in Washington, D.C., and across the country."

"This will be an Inauguration for all Americans," said Washington, D.C. Mayor Adrian M. Fenty. "And so we are dedicated to opening it up so that people from across the country can gather together in America's front yard. We remain hard at work to ensure the day's festivities are safe and accessible for visitors, residents, and businesses alike."

In the past, the National Mall has been used as a staging area for participants in the inaugural parade. But in response to early indications that more Americans than usual may travel to Washington to join in celebration of our shared values and common purpose, officials have worked tirelessly in recent weeks to relocate the parade staging area. Inaugural parade participants will be announced next week.

In the coming days and weeks, the PIC will release further information about viewing the inauguration from the National Mall and other inaugural events. For updates, please visit our website at <http://www.pic2009.org/page/m2/14907f7a/5784dbd8/2a884530/607ee2b6/864862336/VEsH/> www.pic2009.org.
